SMS

SMS over the API is coming after a compliance review.

Gauge workspaces can already send and receive SMS from the console on their Gauge numbers. SMS over the API is not available yet.

Sending SMS from code costs money per message and reaches people's phones, so it opens only after a compliance review covering consent records, do-not-contact lists, quiet hours in the recipient's time zone, and spending caps.

When it ships:

  • it will need the sms-send scope, granted only by name: no wildcard or "full access" key will ever include it (Scopes);
  • an SMS you send will not have to open an inbox conversation, so notifications do not land in your team's queue;
  • sms.received and sms.status_updated webhook events will report replies and delivery.
